Our Mission

Flew the Coop Sessions is a 501c3 non-profit live music entertainment outlet that provides local artists with high quality video and audio recordings of their live performances free of charge with the mission of documenting, celebrating and growing the thriving local music scene in Kansas City and the Midwest at large.

Working to build, curate, and foster a community for songwriters of all kinds from all over by spotlighting the diversity of genres and identities throughout the Midwest music scene.

Our Values

Flew The Coop Sessions is a collective that works in the greater Kansas City area to uplift voices, inspire creativity, and archive culture. Through this work we aim to foster joy, inclusion, safety, and strength in our community by challenging harmful systems. We recognize that the land where Kansas City stands today was stolen, therefore no human being here today can be illegal, but they do deserve happiness, dignity and freedom. We find these values to be true beyond the borders of Kansas City, and seek to bring this message across the world. As a collective, we will continue to record celebrations of life and love, and fight against forces of division and hatred. We are, and forever will work to be, a safe place for all peoples of any race, ethnicity, creed, class, legal status, gender expression and sexual orientation. The music this series seeks to share with the world has the power to allow us all to connect, to empathize with and to love each other regardless of our differences. As a growing platform, Flew The Coop Sessions holds this responsibility near and dear to our hearts. We hope to earn and maintain your trust as we demonstrate these values through our actions and our work.
